A pensioner from the Tver region lost 244 thousand rubles after a conversation with a "postal worker"

A pensioner from Vyshny Volochok fell for the bait of scammers who called her twice. The details were provided by the Tver Region Department of Internal Affairs on February 26.
First, a 63-year-old woman received a call from a supposed postal employee who said that a parcel was waiting for her, but to receive it she had to provide a code from a text message. After that, the pensioner received another call - from a fake law enforcement officer. He told her that scammers were calling her under the guise of postal employees and were trying to steal money from her account. In order to save the funds, the interlocutor convinced the pensioner to transfer them to a safe "account". Following the scammer's instructions, the woman lost 244 thousand rubles.
A criminal case of fraud has been opened and an investigation is underway.
